This is my 20th year teaching, currently, I'm a 3rd-grade teacher at a quickly growing district in Central Ohio. My goal each year is to help each child grow and learn to be better than when I "found them". My district is an amazing district, but it is facing many challenges. We have growing classes sizes, this year I have 26 students in my homeroom. Many of these students come from broken homes and we have a large ELL (English Language Learner) population. This means that many times it can be hard to even communicate with families about their child. Some of these children have been through things that we can't even imagine. My goal is to show them the love of God even in a public school setting. I work hard to make my classroom a safe and inviting place where each student no matter their background, no matter their home life, can feel loved and appreciated. I also coach Track, I've decided to step out of my comfort zone and work with older kids, hoping to have more of an impact on their lives. I am also a wife and mother of 3 and trying to teach them to be the best they can be and shine their lights bright for Jesus. We go to church as a family and volunteer at church to help our church continue to reach the lost in our part of the world. I sing in the worship band, design chalkboards for the children's department to remind children of their lessons, paint when needed, and volunteer at VBS and any other programs our church does. I try to instill in my children the importance of volunteering and helping others. Many of these programs we volunteer as a family.
